First of all, I’d like to apologise as my camera didn’t work for this reviews. I got a few snaps on my phone but they just don’t do justice like my camera. So sorry for the lack of photos in this post.
By now many of you would probably have come across a Bill’s at least once. They are a growing restaurant chain and for good reason.
I had my first taste of Bill’s last year and have indulged in their breakfast’s at the Colchester branch quite a few times, which have never a disappointment I must say.
But last Wednesday I got to experience what their dinner menu had to offer.
The first thing that struck me with the Chelmsford Restaurant is the decor. Not only did it have Bill’s farm shop fill (as I would describe it ) but one side had an American diner feel and the other had a kind of shabby chic classy feel. So to me this restaurant has a good diversity when it comes to its interior.
I experience amazing service from the team at Bill’s and what stuck in my mind of the most was when I first had my drinks order taken (before starters and mains) they asked if I would like drinking water for the table. I really liked this touch as on many occasion I have been tucking into my main course and become rather thirsty. It then can take a while to get someone to take my order for table water or even have to get up to get some from the bar. Even though this isn’t the end of the world when it comes to your dining exercise it is nice to have table water ready and just go on enjoying your meal.
If you’re a cheese lover then Bill’s has ot a starter to die for; Crumbed Halloumi Sticks. I actually got a little emotional about how good they were and yes cheese does strange things to me. I also like that you get 5 good sized sticks that were actually pretty filling.
For my main dish I had the Bill’s Hamburger with added cheese and bacon. Hamburgers aren’t something I really ever go for mainly on the fact that I always find the buns disappointing. But this bun was well toasted and it didn’t fall apart in my hands.
Shameful as it was, I couldn’t order dessert as I was stuffed to the brim. I literally had to unbutton my jeans, so you know it was a good meal when that happens. But this was a sad occasion for me as the Apple ,Salted Caramel & Walnut crumble sounded like something dreams were made of but I just couldn’t do it. *Tears*
If you haven’t visited a Bills (which would surprise me) then get down to your local restaurant and try out what they have to offer. Whether it be their scrumptious breakfast or their incredible dinners. Do it!
Where’s your nearest bills? What was your experience like?
* My meal was courtesy of Bills Restaurant. Options are completely my own as always and Bill’s is somewhere I have voluntary gone before.
