Sailing The Komodo Islands | Swimming With Manta Rays

Sailing The Komodo Islands | Swimming With Manta Rays

The second day of the sailing trip started with being woke up in the very early hours of the morning to hike up to Prada viewpoint to watch the sunrise.

I will still in shock from my trek up Mt Batur, but I gave it my best shot. I did manage most of the way and go to the first viewpoint which had stunning views.

We then set off too what was probably my favourite stop Manta Point which was, of course, to swim with Mantarys.

It was quite this heartening at first as there was no sign of any manta rays and I thought it was going to be a let down even though I knew there was no guarantee to see them.

Then all of a sudden the guys on the boats started shouting MANTA MANTA and within seconds these beautiful creatures where gliding pass me.

And some got pretty close. It was the best part of the trip in my opinion.

We finished off the day with some snorkelling at Gili Laba.

This is the first night we were travelling through till morning. I thought the engine noise would keep me up at night but I easily managed to get to sleep. I must say the gentle rocking of the boat actually help.

Day three to be continued…..
