Kiwi Experience Travel Guide, Waitomo, New Zealand #2

The next stop on the Kiwi Experience is Karangahake gorge for the scenic walk it offers. On the walk, you have to the chance to ventured through the old tunnels, discover the minding history of the gorge as well as all scenic walked which is beautiful.

We then travelled on to our destination of Waitomo (‘wai’ meaning water, ‘tomo’ meaning hole). Waitomo is a very small town, with its main attracting being the famous Glow Worm Caves.

And of course, this is the activity you are offered. The Glow-worm caves tours are operated by The Legendary Black Water Rafting Co. They have a different activity you can choose from depending on how adventurous you are feeling that day.

I opted to form the Labyrinth package, this is a 3 hours tours which includes walking and tubing through the caves, jumping from waterfalls and floating under the beautiful glow worms. At the end of the tour, you are offered some lovely hot soup which is a lovely touch as it can get quite cold down in the caves.

The accommodation was again amazing. We stayed in the Kiwi Paka, it was lovely and clean and offered anyone on the bus discount on their amazing homemade Pizza.
