If you live near Chelmsford (Essex) then you will almost certainly know that the town has been through a makeover these past few months.
And with Chelmsford in a new bloom it brings with it another addition, the swanky Restaurant Quarter. This adding a must need culinary choice to the town. One of the newest additions being Bourgee.
After the success of their Southend-on-Sea restaurant Bourgee has now branched out to Chelmsford and is every growing with plans for developments in Bury St. Edmunds and more.
I was lucky enough to be invited along to the launch party last Thursday to discover the restaurants ambient atmosphere as well as tasting samples of their delicious steaks and lobster dishes and have a few cheeky glasses of Prosecco.
Turning up to the restaurant and entering the reception I would stun by the beautiful water feature they have. It really gives the WOW factor upon arrival. The restaurant décor is so spot on with its elegant, classy touches and has a very comforting feel to it and I felt it gave off a very romantic atmosphere. The low lights and candles would make for a great date night for couple or for a meal with the girls to make you feel like elegant ladies (before the many cocktails that may follow)
We were brought round some canapés and easy eat bites. Now Im not just saying this but it was some of the best treats i’ve very tasted! My favourite being the steak and potatoes on a stick.
There was such a variety of food that it really can cater to anyones pallet and they sure are living up to here motto of affordable luxury.
Not only do they ofter an amazing a la carte menu but also offer afternoon tea, a set lunch menu, kids menu and a whole gluten free mean. All of which can be view here.
I had such an amazing night! The staff were so professional, friendly and welcoming. And the food was too good for words. And it kept coming and coming.
I’ve already booked up to go back and been banging on to anyone that will listen that they need to eat at Bourgee! Heed my words!
