5 Great Restaurants I’ve Visited Lately

5 Great Restaurants I’ve Visited Lately
June and July have been some incredible and busy months. From Ascot, London Days out and lazy days enjoying the English summer. And one of the best parts about these past few months are the amazing restaurants I have eaten at, no surprise my waist line wasn’t that thrilled *Poopping out my work trousers as I type, no joke. So I wanted to share my top 5 restaurants of June and July. Each totally nom nom in their own right and I would highly recommend treating yourself to a nice amazing meal at one of these restaurants.

The Lion Inn - Chelmsford,Essex

I have been going to The Lion Inn for many years now and it never disappoints. The Lion Inn has an old inn feel with modern décor, giving you a mix of the old and new. The restaurant is also decked out with a bar and outdoor seating. The menu is based on “Pub Grub” with a great variety too choose from. So I went for a Lion Classic, Slow Roast Pork Belly.

Literally drooling thinking about it

If you love descent pub grub and a bit of old and new, this is the place to go.

Loch Fyne - Hertford,Hertfordshire

If you are a fish lover then you have to visit a Loch Fyne once in your life. They have 37 locations over the UK so hopefully there is one near you.
My favourite part of the meal was the Tequila & Lime Oysters I had. They are brought out on a tray with a syringe if Tequila. You then put the Tequila on and shoot it back with the oyster, sucking on the lime after.
Now I know for most this would sound horrifying but it actually tasted pretty damn good.
I also had Salt & Pepper Squid for starter and a beautiful Salmon fillet for main
The Fish was de -lics

The Duck & Waffle - London

I had wanted to go to the Duck and Waffle for ages and finally manged to book in for Brunch when I went to London for the day.
I was so excited to go here as I had seen so many fantastic pictures and read amazing reviews.
The Duck and Waffle is on the 40th Floor of one of London’s tallest building so expect some amazing views.
Once I arrived at the 40th floor I was seated in the bar area to enjoy so fine wine and views of London while I waited for my table.
Once seated the challenge for choosing what to order doomed on me.
It was such a hard choice!!
So to start off I went for BBQ Pigs Ears, House Bread & Foie Gras Crème Brulee.
All to be shared with the other half of course, though I could of polished the lot off
The Foie Gras was by far one of the best things I had ever tasted. It was so creamy in texture and had such a beautiful flavour.

I could have eaten pot after pot.

I then went for Smoked Salmon for my bigger dish, while my other half went for the famous Duck & Waffle, which he let me try a taste. Both were pretty epic.
The brunch menu is smaller portions so don’t do what I did and get so hunger you end up ordering half the menu, though it was all worth it.
I cannot wait to go back a try out the dinner menu! It’s a must!

Chop Bloc - Chelmsford,Essex

Chop Bloc is a new lavish steak and burger restaurant and bar based in the centre of Chelmsford, Essex. Steak is by far my favourite meal so as soon as I saw the menu I had to eat there. I had not booked a table when I went and it was a busy weekend but I was lucky enough to get one. I had a little wait for my table so I got to enjoy the fabulous bar and the cocktails they had to offer before being seated at my table. The restaurant is very spacious but have a cosy feel to it, it also gives off this smooth romantic vide. This place is perfect for a date. The décor really sets the mood. I also loved the Steak Memes picture they had around the restaurant, really gave the place a fun feel. If you’re a meat lover or looking for a great date restaurant then this is the place for you. And remember, “True love is rare……Like good steak”

The Cowper Arms - Hertford,Hertfordshire

The Cowper Arms is a beautiful old country restaurant and pub near Herford offering fresh seasonal meals with that home cooked feel. I went here for a pre birthday meal back in June, it is a lovely cosy restaurant/pub and really has that old Tudor pub feel. I say Tudor because of the old low beams. For starter I has an amazing baked camembert and Roast pork belly for main (yes pork belly again, I love it) The food was so well cooked and really hit the stop. With the beautiful country vide and home cooked
